Variegated Hoya Rope Plant

The Variegated Hoya Rope Plant is a conversation starter. Its thick, twisted leaves curl and cup into rope-like strands that drape over the edge of a pot, splashed with creamy white and pale yellow variegation. Slow growing and sculptural, it looks like living art on a shelf or hanging in a bright window.

This is the plant for someone who wants something unusual but low maintenance. It stores water in its waxy leaves, so it forgives the occasional missed watering, and it can bloom clusters of star-shaped, sweet-smelling flowers when it is happy.

Why You'll Love It

• Twisted, rope-like vines with creamy variegation, totally unlike any other houseplant
• Slow growing and compact, perfect for shelves, desks, and hanging baskets
• Can produce clusters of fragrant, star-shaped blooms
• Non-toxic to pets, so it is safe around curious cats and dogs
• Ships in a nursery pot, ready to display or repot

Plant Care

• Light: Bright, indirect light. More light means stronger variegation.
• Water: Let the soil dry out between waterings. The thick leaves store water, so when in doubt, wait.
• Difficulty: Easy. A great pick for beginners who want something unique.
• Growth: Slow-growing trailing vine. Give it time and it will cascade beautifully.
• Humidity: Average household humidity is fine.
• Pet safety: Non-toxic to pets.
