Blue Chalk Sticks brings a color most plants cannot: upright, finger-like leaves in powdery blue, like a little stand of chalk. It is the perfect contrast plant next to green rosettes in an arrangement, and striking enough to hold a pot on its own.
It comes from the dry hills of South Africa and behaves like it: give it strong light, gritty soil, and long drinks spaced far apart, and it will spread into a blue mat over time.
Why You'll Love It
- True powder-blue foliage, rare in houseplants
- Drought tolerant and very low maintenance
- Spreads to fill arrangements and wide pots
- The blue deepens with strong light
Plant Care
- Light: Bright light, some direct sun keeps the blue strong
- Water: Let soil dry fully between waterings, then soak
- Difficulty: Easy
- Growth: Upright then spreading, a succulent ground cover
- Humidity: Average to low, no extra humidity needed
- Pet Friendly: No - toxic to cats and dogs if eaten
