Crocodile Fern earns the name honestly: each strap-like frond is puckered and quilted with a raised network of veins that looks like crocodile hide, in a bright yellow-green that practically glows against darker foliage. It looks prehistoric, and that is a compliment.
It is an Australian epiphyte, growing on trees and rocks in the wild, so it likes moisture and humidity but good drainage too. Easier than most ferns, stranger than all of them, and fully pet safe.
